PROJECTS
The Leq’á:mel Development Corporation (LDC) is currently working on a number of projects on LFN Lands.
These include:
Zaitscullachan IR#9
- Leq’á:mel Propagation Centre (in construction)
- Leq’á:mel Cannabis Park (future)
Papekwatchin IR#4 and Worth Road
- The Leq’á:mel Development Corporation is working to co-develop Worth Road and the former land-locked Papekawatchin IR#4. Included in the development is a new community Boat Launch and a new Business Park and log sort and aggregate barging facility with value-added operations. In order to provide increased diversity and accommodate demand from non-forestry related businesses the park will also include forestry, value-added wood, technology, manufacturing and steel fabrication and training and employment components.
Skweahm IR#10
- The Leq’á:mel Development Corporation and Leq’á:mel First Nation are working with a co-developer to explore the potential to create a master planned residential and commercial development for community consideration.
- There would include a community space of remembrance, Community Longhouse / Cultural Centre, and various styles of housing supporting the needs of seniors to full single family occupancy units of many sizes above commercial units or mixed use.
Lackaway IR#2
- The Leq’á:mel Development Corporation and others are developing an industrial/ business park master plan for community consideration.
The Leq’á:mel Development Corporation is always interested in development and co-development opportunities both on and off reserve lands.
