Leq’a:mel Development Corporation

Land Holdings

We continue to consider additional properties that would be beneficial for development and/or preservation as one of the Leq’á:mel strategic goals is to increase the Leq’á:mel First Nation  land base.  This was an important factor when the Leq’á:mel Development Corporation was established.

Leq’á:mel Development Corporation owns 53 hectares (131 acres) of fee simple land comprised of unique ecosystems, forest complexes, a stream, an ephemeral artesian waterway that runs on the surface for approximately 400 meters and three distinct wetland areas with running and standing water area. The property consists of a main house, detached cottage, a cattle barn, a barn with a loft for storage, two wells, and two open air buildings for crop and equipment storage.
